  3. This chapter describes the documentation that supports the MPT 1.2.1
  4. release. It contains information about the following:

  6.    * Online information access
  7.  
  8.    * Documentation included with the release

  10. 4.1 Online Information Access
  11.  
  12. The following types of online information products are available to MPT
  13. 1.2.1 customers:
  14.  
  15.    * The Cray Research Online Software Publications Library, which is
  16.      available through the World Wide Web at the following URL:

  18.      http://www.cray.com/products/software/publications
  19.  
  20.    * The Cray DynaWeb server, which allows you to view manuals online using
  21.      a World Wide Web browser such as Netscape or Mosaic. Please see your
  22.      Cray Research system administrator for the local URL of the Cray
  23.      DynaWeb server.
  24.  
  25.    * The User Publications Catalog, publication CP-0099, describes Cray
  26.      Research product documentation available to customers. Cray Research
  27.      customers who subscribe to the Cray Inform (CRInform) program can
  28.      access this information on CRInform. For additional information about
  29.      the CRInform program, see Section 5.5. Cray Research personnel can
  30.      access the catalog through the World Wide Web at the following URL:

  34.    * Man pages, which describe a particular element of the operating system
  35.      or a compatible product. To see a detailed description of a particular
  36.      command or routine, use the man(1) command.

  38.    * A message system, available on UNICOS and UNICOS/mk systems, which
  39.      provides explanations of error messages. To see an explanation of a
  40.      message, use the explain(1) command.
  41.  
  42.    * Cray Research online glossary, available on UNICOS and UNICOS/mk
  43.      systems, which explains the terms used in a manual. To get a
  44.      definition, use the define(1) command.

  46.    * IRIX books, man pages, and release notes at the following URLs:

  51.    * IRIS InSight, available on IRIX systems, which allows you to view
  52.      manuals online. For a description of IRIS InSight, see the insight(1)

  57. Documentation included with this release is online only. For a description
  58. of MPI, see the Message Passing Toolkit: MPI Programmer's Manual,
  59. publication SR-2197. For a description of PVM, see the Message Passing
  60. Toolkit: PVM Programmer's Manual, publication SR-2196. For information on
  61. accessing these documents, see Section 4.1

  63. The man pages for MPI and PVM are available in online form only. SHMEM man
  64. pages are printed in the SHMEM Library Ready Reference, publication SQ-2232
  65. and in the Application Programmer's Library Reference Manual, publication
  66. SR-2165. The following publications are also available for purchase through
